A rainy morning calls for a cozy breakfast

Typically Seattle summer starts about July 5th and me and my fellow Seattleites were using that motto to keep us optimistic considering the unfortunate spring and early summer weather we were having.  Well July 5th has come and gone and we are still hanging out in the 50/60 degree temperatures with rain... UGH!

But we prevail!
Our summer BBQ's become indoor gatherings and some unsuspecting chef slaves over a hot grill in the ever present Seattle drizzle.  You have to give us credit for keeping the summer spirit alive even with the gray weather and unusually chilly days.  However this morning I had a tough time putting on my pretend summer spirit when we woke up to rain yet again.  So we loaded up in the car and went and filled our bellies with rather large but amazingly delicious breakfast at the Maltby Cafe!

Now I quit my job to pursue my passion for photography and I had grand dreams of getting up before dawn and photographing breathtaking sunrises, well when the weather is gray and raining you don't really get that opportunity.  So I did the next best thing and photographed my amazing breakfast experience using my phone camera... Enjoy!

Summer Rain

I was inspired to go out and take some photos in my yard this morning after a misty rain spell.  There is nothing prettier than Hostas with a light mist on them after a hot sunny day.  They are so vibrant and they catch the rain just perfect.  Of course I couldn't simply focus on the Hostas... enjoy all the photos below.
